Continue reading to learn about Rogaine’s efficacy and if it’s right for you.

What Is Rogaine?

Rogaine is the first topical treatment that’s FDA-approved to stimulate hair growth in women and men. Its active ingredient is minoxidil, which is a vasodilator that revives and increases the size of hair follicles and extends your hair’s natural growth cycle.

As a result, Rogaine allows you to grow thicker and fuller hair.

Does Rogaine Work?

Rogaine’s efficacy is backed by two decades of clinical trials. It’s been shown to produce optimal hair restoration in men with male pattern baldness, which presents as hair loss at the crown.

In women, it’s clinically proven to promote hair growth in patients with thinning hair.

However, in order for to maximize Rogaine benefits, patients must adhere to its instructions for use. You should apply the recommended dose of Rogaine once in the morning and once in the evening. It’s important to ensure hair and scalp are free of moisture and that you don’t administer more than 2 ml of Rogaine per day.

Additionally, ongoing use of Rogaine is necessary to maintain treatment benefits.

Is Rogaine Right for You?

Despite Rogaine’s impressive results for certain patient populations, it’s not right for everyone.

In fact, Rogaine is not recommended for cases of hair loss in the front of the head, a receding hairline, patchy hair loss, unexplained hair loss, and pregnancy-related hair loss.

However, there are suitable options, including hair restoration with PRP, for individuals experiencing these types of hair loss.
