A Little story about one of our most fabulou

A Little story about one of our most fabulous patients… the first 2 photos here show him about 20 years ago, before and after Dr. West performed his first facial revolumizing treatment using Sculptra to restore overall facial volume + hyaluronic acid-based filler around the mouth.
Our patient had been maintaining his volume appproximately once a year until Covid. After receiving no treatment for a year, the last set of photos shows his visit 2 weeks ago at which time Radiesse was used to the define the jawline (+ lift early jowls), as well as Restylane Refyne to correct the area including the mouth/chin/nasolabial folds. He was also treated with Dysport to smooth out his forehead, frown area + crow’s feet. At the time the follow up photo was taken, he additionally received Sculptra to fill out the mid face, and we’ll be seeing him back for follow up next week (We’ll keep you posted!)

Intense pulsed light (IPL) energy is similar to that of a laser. The difference is that lasers focus just one wavelength of light at your skin, while IPL releases light of many different wavelengths, like a photo flash.

The light from IPL is more scattered and less focused than a laser. The device can easily cover large surface areas to even out blotchiness, without breaking the skin’s surface and with no downtime. IPL largely replaced medium depth chemical peels when it was introduced more than 2 decades ago because it has similar results but there is no peeling of the skin.

During IPL treatment, pigment cells in your skin absorb light energy, which is converted into heat. The heat destroys the unwanted pigment to clear up freckles and other spots. The light can also be calibrated to target redness + blood vessels. IPL can be used anywhere on your body to improve skin’s appearance.
