The MEDLITE (Nd:YAG) laser is most commonly used for removing brown "age" spots, tattoos, freckles and tan or brown birthmarks such as café-au-lait macules and Nevus of Ota. Pigmented lesions are dark in color because the melanin is highly concentrated in one area of the skin.

How are BROWN SPOTS/TATTOOS removed? The MEDLITE laser is one of the most technologically advanced lasers for removing pigmented lesions and tattoos. The laser removes these pigments using specific, targeted light energy which does not damage surrounding skin so there is no scarring. The specialized light produced by the MEDLITE laser is absorbed by the pigmented lesion/tattoo. The unwanted pigment is then destroyed, thus removing or lightening the treated area.
